LORI ZELENKO BIOGRAPHY:
After an entrepreneurial twenty-year career in marketing communications, Lori Zelenko opened LSZ Communications to independently create provocative, media oriented PR-driven programs to build brands as well as create buzz. Formerly Director of Special Events for Ruder Finn, NYC’s #1 PR agency, Ms. Zelenko maintains a vast network of personal and professional resources giving her the edge when it comes to unusual, highly impact publicity campaigns and special events. Imagination, creativity and passion are the trademarks of her award-winning work.

Recent projects include a mix of upscale lifestyle brands, notably the Spring 2006 launch of new fragrances for men and for women from Tommy Bahamas (golfers favorite), Revlon and a world renowned rock’n roll band; branding strategies for contemporary furnituredesign resource, York Street Studio known for luxurious leather home furnishings (House & Garden, CBS This Morning); support for a ground-breaking environmental fragrance introduction from Procter & Gamble (syndicated New York Times story); the launch of Okeanos, the modern Russian Spa in the spirit of the Tsars (NY Times Style Section, NBC TV, cover story American Spa Magazine) the only spa in the US to feature a spa menu from Molton Brown, the international skincare resource (opportunity created by LSZ Communications) and the introduction (exclusive to Saks Fifth Avenue) of the first ready-to-wear collection from The Beatles’ favorite tailor, Edward Sexton of Savile Row.

Ms. Zelenko orchestrated events supporting the national launch of The American Heart Association’s Go Red For Women campaign with Daryl Hannah as celebrity spokesperson. Career highlights also include producing special events for Revlon and The Fragrance Foundation as well as ten years as the publicrelations representative for Liz Claiborne Cosmetics. For the sports memorabilia website, Clean Sweep Auctions, Ms. Zelenko generated local media exposure in targeted markets to drive traffic to Antiques Roadshow-type events.

Among the award-winning mediagenic events Ms. Zelenko produced is The World’s Largest Grilled Cheese, for Kraft 2% Singles (this received 240 TV hits worldwide); The Lycos Rally for Missing Kids, spotlighting the web portal as the fastest, most accessible means of searching for missing children (became the basis of a special on ABC-TV); the opening of the New York flagship for The North Face known for its technologically advanced outdoor gear; reinventing VF Corp’s Lily of France brand with the sexy, sensational launch of innovative intimate apparel (TV saturation in LA, NY, Dallas and top 20 markets nationwide); the launch of FreshLook Color Contacts at Asia de Cuba featuring celebrity makeup artist, Paul Starr.

Prior to her career in public relations, Ms. Zelenko was arts editor for international fashion magazines, Mode International and L’Officiel/USA. She initiated a forward-thinking series of interviews with leaders in the arts, among them Diana Vreeland and Tom Wolfe for American Artist Magazine. Additionally, she wrote extensively on innovative uses of fine art in architecture for the professional audience of architects and designers who read Interiors Magazine. Currently she is a staff writer for @hearst, interviewing groundbreaking media personalities on topics in the news ranging from breast cancer to Hurricane Katrina.
